Spirited away

Time check: 10.23pm

Am currently in my hostel in Prague, waiting to catch my train/bus to Krakow at about 6am tomorrow.

It's the first time that I met travellers from Singapore, and I thought that it'd be nice to make some notes. Met a young couple who were in Berlin for their belated honeymoon. They've been dating for 8 years and married for a year. I don't know why, but I felt so heartened. They agreed that I looked more enthusiastic/excited about their honeymoon than they are. It definitely isn't easy to find someone whom you want to spend the rest of your life with. It's so amazing to know that they been together through different phases in life, and that they will continue to celebrate their next phases of life together. I might sound crazy but it truly touched my heart, that I've encountered a beautiful 'miracle'. Makes me wonder if this would ever happen to me.

Today, I met another group of students from SMU who are in Europe for a student exchange program. Had dinner with them, and it felt like I was back in Singapore again. It was an initial fuzzy warm feeling, that kind of familiarity about Singapore. After that, it just made me realise (again) that I do not belong, which made me feel a little sad. The culture does not charm me, if that makes sense? I am grateful and proud to be a Singaporean, but I can't find an identity within. Maybe I never belonged, and maybe I never will.

Travelling has so much to offer. The more I know, the more I don't know. I lose myself, I find myself. Sometimes, I conflict myself and it does make me feel kinda bipolar at times. Seeing the world reminds me how small I actually am, but it also reminds me that it does not take very much to make little differences in the world.

The journey has been such great fun, definitely more laid back than the previous trip, and certainly kinda crazy at times.
